The room was amazing! It had everything I needed, like an equipped kitchenette with all the utensils, a private bathroom with free toiletries, and even free WiFi. The best part was the scenic views of the valley and ocean, it was absolutely breathtaking. As a bike rider, I loved waking up to those beautiful views every morning.
The only thing I didn't love was the bathroom, which had a bath or shower. But hey, that's just my personal preference.

We had an incredible stay at this charming little cabin nestled in nature. The location was perfect, offering idyllic views and a sense of tranquility. The friendly staff provided exceptional service, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. The breakfasts were delicious, with a variety of options to satisfy every palate. The cottage itself was cozy and inviting, with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. We especially enjoyed the private bar and pool area, perfect for relaxing and taking in the beautiful surroundings.
The lack of storage space in the room was a bit inconvenient. With only a few hangers available, we had to resort to using spare beds to store our suitcases.

The hotel's decoration and general areas were absolutely charming and cozy. As a senior woman, I appreciated the attention to detail and the warm atmosphere. The accessibility for senior people was excellent, with easy-to-navigate pathways and well-lit common areas. It made me feel comfortable and safe during my stay.
I would have liked to see more activities or entertainment options specifically tailored for senior guests. It would have been wonderful to have some gentle exercise classes or organized outings that catered to our needs.

The swimming pool was perfect for lounging, and I amused myself by trying to spot a hiking trail that didn't disappear into thick greenery. It was so kind of them to offer me a basket that matched my preferences, like they knew I'm a diva.
Oh, and how could I forget? The check-in location was just a mere 1-hour drive away!

I absolutely loved the cozy and charming decoration of the cottage. The floral curtains and vintage furniture gave it a warm and nostalgic feel, reminding me of my childhood home. The general areas of the hotel were also well-maintained and beautifully landscaped. As a senior woman, I appreciated the easy accessibility of the property. The pathways were flat and well-lit, making it safe and convenient for me to navigate around.
The only thing I would ask for a better vacation for senior people is a grab bar or handle in the shower. This would provide extra support and stability for those of us who may have difficulty with balance.

The room at Madeira Sunset Cottage - Nature Retreat is amazing. The views of the valley and ocean are absolutely breathtaking. It feels like I'm in paradise! The equipped kitchenette is great because it allows me to prepare my own meals whenever I want. It's such a convenient feature for a longer stay like mine. The private bathroom is a big plus, especially because it comes with free toiletries. It's like having my own little spa retreat in the comfort of my room. The free WiFi is a lifesaver for a business traveler like me. I can stay connected and catch up on work without any issues. The streaming services provided in the room are a fantastic addition. I can unwind and relax with my favorite shows and movies after a long day of meetings.
Personally, I didn't enjoy the bath or shower in the private bathroom. But hey, that's just my preference.

The wooden cottage at Madeira Sunset Cottage - Nature Retreat was a cozy and spacious retreat. The comfortable single beds, well-equipped kitchen, and reasonable-sized bathroom made our stay comfortable. The view from the cottage was breathtaking, especially on a sunny day. The surrounding landscape with fruit trees and beautiful flowering shrubs added to the charm. The staff was helpful and the cottage was cleaned daily.
The weather in November can be unpredictable and rainy, which might hinder full enjoyment of the location. Additionally, having a car is essential as the cottage is quite remote and there are no nearby restaurants.

My stay at the Sunset Cottage in Madeira was absolutely wonderful! As someone who wanted a quiet getaway in nature, the location was perfect. The view from the cottage was spectacular, especially during the evening sunsets. The cottage itself was bright, romantic, and had all the necessary amenities. The owner, Sr. Mendonça, was incredibly helpful and kind, even lending us a tupperware. It was my favorite out of the four places we stayed in Madeira. The cleanliness, comfort, and effective heating made it a cozy and enjoyable stay. The breakfast delivered to the chalet every morning was always a pleasant surprise, and the staff we encountered were polite and happy. I highly recommend this cottage for a relaxing and memorable experience in Madeira!
Would be happy to recommend this hotel.

The value for money at the cottage was great, and the room itself was clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. The location was idyllic, with breathtaking views and a beautiful garden. The staff, especially Vanessa and Tony, were friendly, helpful, and made us feel right at home.
The morning meal could have been improved with more variety of condiments, like salt, pepper, and oil for cooking.
